Too Faced -- Joy To The Girls Palette | Review

TaDa.... Picked this beauty up at Sephora a couple months ago and this has been a great addition to palette collection. This is apart of the Too Faced Holiday collection which might become your new obsession.
This palette includes 20 ULTRA pigmented shadows. 5 of which are matte while the other 10 are metallic to shimmery to iridescent shades. The color selection includes mostly neutral tones but, it also includes some pinky, peachy, teal, and black shades to add a twist to your most neutral look. One of the best things about this palette is that the colors are able to compliment each other well and you won't need to dip into other shadows.
It also comes with this this full sized Too Faced LashGasm Mascara. This mascara is phenomenal. I love that the wand has many comb like teeth that are perfect for coating your lashes perfectly. I am a BIG FAN!
So I have swatches of each and keep in mind I have no primer so they wouldn't pop as much as they possibly could with a primer.
The first color is the palette is Cookie Dough which is a flesh tone for me but for those lighter in tone it is going to be a deeper tone of brown. This shade is matte and even though it is my exact skin tone it is perfect to blend into your crease especially those lighter in tone. This color reminds me a lot of MAC's Soft Brown.
Cheers is a beautiful shimmery champagne color perfect for the lid or even for a highlight tone (inner tear ducts). This color pairs well with deeper shades.
One of my personal favorite shades in the palette since it is the MOST GORGEOUS antique gold tone and this shade is ULTRA pigmented. I love the way this color shows up on every skin tone. And, it pops even more when a black eyeliner is used to under it. PERFECTION!

Sugar Plum is a deeper plum shade with GLITTER!!! Purple is probably one of my favorite eye shadow colors to rocks out. Since glitter and purple are two of my favorite things this shadow is such a great color to add depth to any look.
Mulberry is the perfect transition crease color for those with deeper skin tones and those who are more fair in tone this is a perfect outer corner to bring depth to the look. Such a great shade and... it's matte. Mattes are essential to almost every look.
Snow Angel another matte shade is great for either brow bone high light or an all over lid tone. I think this is a nice for a day to day look on the lid with mulberry or cookie dough as a crease color. Simple but b e a utiful !
This shade is also very similar to the above shade and I think it's uses can be the same.
Too Too though it doesn't look like it in this swatch it is a very pale pink shade which contains a minimal amount of shmmer/glitter. It's a great shade for neutral looks that are different from the typical goldy nude tones.
Yule Log... what a name! lol I don't even know what it means but this shade is uhhhhmazing :) I love that it's a a rich deep brown and the best part about it is that it has gold glitter! I've mentioned my obsession with glitter and what I love about it is that it's just a nice tone to deepen up any look.

Chestnut looks a tad bit shimmery but it't not. This is a deeper matte shade that has multiple uses: deep matte smokey eye, transition color , or outer v color. This color is very pretty and just a great all around color.

Twinkle is the smoothest shimmery gold tone. Where as prancer is a more chunky shimmery antique gold. So beautiful on the lids!
Joy is a teal/baby blue shade that adds umph this palette. Some color is needed in every girls life. I think this tone is very wearable color that isn't too vibrant to the point that you'd look like a clown.
This matte peach shade is also a nice lid/ highlight color. I really love this tone and think it's so gorgeous!  Also a nice day to day tone.

Chimney is a great gray tone that can deepen up a look with either the paired black shade or any of the above deeper browns or it can even be paired with any tone to deepen a look. I actually think this shade paired with the tealish shade in Joy would be a super fun combo!
This matte black color is just a staple item. WHAT'S A PALETTE WITHOUT BLACK?!  The uses of black are just limitless. Need I go on ...

Final Thoughts:
So this sums up the whole palette from head to toe. Is it worth the price?! UM YEAHHHH!  The eyeshadows are beyond gorgeous and I love it.The eye shadows are beyond pigmented and are to die...   Also a great day to day palette and contains the everything you need for on the go.

FIRST IMPRESSION: MARC JACOBS BEAUTY Genius Gel Super Charged Foundation

So I decided to try out the new Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Foundations. Originally I went into Sephora with intentions on buying the new Smashbox Halo foundation but ended up getting this beauty instead because the formula appealed to me more when I swatched it. It dried fairly matte which is what drew me in since I have combination skin and like more of a matte finish. The above video gives you an idea of how the foundation wears. I did wear it for about 11 hours and updated every few hours. I really didn't see a big difference in the formula I did think it would be a little different since it is "genius gel" but it reminded me of any typical liquid foundation. I have combination skin and get oily through my t-zone so I really wanted to see how this product would handle my oil.

Coverage --> Sheer to medium but it is buildable.

Suggested Skin Types --> Dry, Medium, and Combination.
I found myself needing to powder after a few hours which is nothing new to me but, I will say that it lasted through me sweating, heat, and humidity. Which is a definite plus!

So this product retails for about $48. And yes it is steep for a foundation and I think you can find a product equally as good for the same price.

Do I like it ... YES! But, I just don't think I would repurchase it again because it didn't do anything significant enough for me to repurchase it for this price! I do think those with dry to normal skin would probably enjoy this product more. Since it is sheer to medium those with clearer skin.

So those are my thoughts based off the one use. Maybe as I use it more I'll like it better but for now it's just ok.

Thanks for reading :)

FAIL!! Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review

Lately I have been on a foundation overload and have just purchased several foundations. I kept seeing this Make Up For Ever ( MUFE) everywhere, read reviews, and saw it was one of Sephora's best sellers. So, I decided to hop on the bandwagon and give it a try. But, this wasn't my first rodeo with this product. About 3 years ago I had purchased this because one of Kim K's makeup artist suggested it and of course I had to have it because homegirls makeup is flawless. When I tried it back then I hated it! And couldn't wait to finish it since it was a pretty penny. But... in those three years I feel I've learned more about the art of makeup and figured why not try it again since I know more now then I did then. I mean truth is... I probably was  the one who sucked not the product. WRONG!!!! When I applied this product it looked good I had no complaints it was medium coverage my skin wasn't overly shiny I had nothing negative to say about the product. As the day went on, the product went  off. On the sides of my nose the product had completely came off. No I wasn't sweating, no I wasn't touching my face it just wasn't wanting to stick to my skin AT ALL. I do have combination skin where I do get shine in my t-zone but  NEVER! have I ever had a foundation slide off like that. Not even my drugstore products. That was disappointing since this guy was not cheap! So I returned it. Wasn't my cup of tea. And much to my surprise one of the employees at Sephora also had the same problem and she said her skin is extremely dry. So it wasn't just me... But, some people swear buy this stuff. Me personally NO THANK YOU!
So that was just my two cents. I would hate for anyone to waste their time and/money but then again it may work for you.

REVIEW! Kat Von D Lock It Longwear Foundation ...

So recently I went to Sephora and bought this baby!!! At first I was hesitant because I kept reading mixed reviews but decided to get it anyways. I am so happy I chose to get this foundation because it is my obsession! I have sooooo many foundations and have tried all different formulas but this foundation by far is the best one for my skin type. I have combination skin and I think this formula is perfect for those who have combination to oily skin. As far as those with dry skin I honestly can't say. I know it keeps my face fairly matte for a large portion of the day so maybe this wouldn't be the best match for those with dry skin. Some of the negative feedback I read online is that it's cakey and it hard to blend but I don't find myself having these problems at all. I always moisturize and prime my face prior to application as well so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! So if people are squirting multiple pumps and applying it all to the face I can see it getting cakey or hard to blend. You literally need one pump and your whole face will have full coverage. I KID YOU NOT! Which is a plus. I use MAC Studio Fluid which is my other foundation lover and find myself needing multiple pumps of the product for the same amount of coverage I get with one pump of this product. So when looking at the price difference keep this in mind because this product is $34. All in all I am super happy with the product and because I liked it so much I bought several more items from the Kat Von D line.  I haven't gotten around to using them all but as I use them more and more I'll leave input on the products.

HAUL....

I recently went to The Cosmetic Company Store in Naples, FL....
OHHHHH MYYYYYY GODDDD!!
That place is a gift from God to Samantha.
Yes I am being overly dramatic but this location had the best products I have seen at all of the locations I have been to...
So I went a little crazy and picked out a bunch of stuff and had received a few gifts as well!!
Thanks Sim and Jenn!

So here we go...

I always say that buying high end lip glosses are a waste of money because you go through them  so quickly! NYX make great lip products and they're SO AFFORDABLE... I think they're 4-5 dollars and sometimes they're buy one get one half off at ULTA so they're definitely worth it! I picked up the four colors above and I listed the names in order from left to right! I really love each one and they can be worn with almost everything!

I always talk about how much I LOVE Smashbox primer and still so but I DON'T love the price! This was my first time using MAC's Matte  and it is identical to Smashbox and it was only $12 at the cosmetic company store which is the same price as the NYX Shine Killer and comes with a little more. I know at the mac counter it's $20 so if you can't find it for a lower price I strongly suggest the NYX primer because it is AMAZING!

Paintpots are my favorite eye primers of all time!!!! I have several and there were several there I fell in love with.... Groundwork is ideal for neutral and warmer tones which are something I use on a daily basis. I also use Imaginary for dark smokey eyes  but not something you can use on a daily basis but I do like the deep purple tint. And of course my FAVORITE ... Painterly! They had it for $13... HOW COULD I RESIST because it was such a good deal and you could never have too many!

I love color and this Extra Dimension shadows are very pigmented and bold and with a paint pot behind it it will pop even more! They're really smooth too ...

This shadow wheel is very neutral and I do like it but... I wish that the Crisp color was matte since I usually use the darker colors in my outer corners and I usually like matte colors. But this is a wheel that can be used EVERYDAY... especially if you want a light look as you can see the colors are very sheer.

Pressed pigments are AMAZING... If you don't like glitter and fallout this isn't the product for you!
These colors go on super sheer and really glittery but I bought warm colors because I use them the most and I do put these products on top of them for a little umphhh . I love the way it looks but like I said not every girl loved glitter.... UNFORTUNATELY !

I do think that mascara is something that should be bought at drugstores... They're super overpriced to me and feel like there are mascaras just as good in drug stores. But... this mascara makes your lashes so evenly spread out and make them look so natural! I think it's because there are so many bristles on the wand and I really like how big the wand is. So if you're a mascara lover you can give this a try if you're willing to spend.

This eye liner has a brownishh blackish color it's a pretty color but this liner does NOT last... Eye liner is a must for my eyes and I love a good liner. The color is so nice I just wish it lasted a while longer...

This was my favorite purchase of them all!! I love the color its a maroon/plum color and it's gorgeous... Though it has shimmer in it I like it for contour and it is to die for... Especially if you're a darker skin tone ...

This watts up is really pretty highlight... It blends out really nice which is good because it is a cream stick. But i personally prefer powder! But I wouldn't rule it out!

A ton of crap! Google a cosmetic company story and save some money people...
BALLIN ON A BUDGET! Sorry I had to...

New Faves....

THIS FOUNDATION IS PURE BLISS....
I think this foundation gives MAC's foundations a run for its money!
I get oily in my Tzone after a few hours and with this foundation I don't go running for the powder it really is amazing!
I apply it with either a flat kabuki or a wet beauty blender!
The beauty blender is the more natural finish of the two....
But if you're oily give it a try... You might fall in love!
AND.... Walgreens has these products buy one get one half off.

On my drugstore vs. retail I spoke about how I think the NYX dewy finish was the same... I still think so but... Spraying this on your face after applying liquid foundation and going in with your powder .... Flawless airbrush finish!

Walgreens add...

P.S--- L'Oreal has a kick ass mascara I'll have to add it later!

Urban Decay Palettes!

Over the past couple months I've accumulated four Urban Decay Palettes.... I went form having nothing by them to all of this... Can I complain. UMMMM NO!
So i wanted to tell you my thoughts on these palettes vs. making your own!

So I went on the Urban Decay website and saw two palettes on sale for $15... What a freaking BARGAIN!!! Especially when they're usually $40! I couldn't resist.

The Mariposa Palette comes with ten eye shadow shades! This is on the warmer side because it's got a lot of browns and neutrals with just a couple shades for a pop of color.
My favorite from the top row is Infamous! It reminds me of MAC's stars n rockets... Paired with Rockstar it would be a beautiful blend. Wreckage is great for everyday which can also be paired with skimp. Gunmetal can give depth if you're looking for a dramatic look.

Spotlight and Limelight are the most sheer on my skin tone. So I do think these are colors that will get the least amount of use for myself. Mushroom is a nice deep gray with a nice frost to it and I really love blue eye shadow for some reason... Call me Tacky... But Haight is a great blue for a little burst of color.

The only con i have to this palette is that there are no matte colors which I think are essential in my opinion so it's not something I would only pack when traveling but definitely worth the price!
P.S-I went to ULTA and they had this same exact palette for the full price so buying this online is your BEST option.

Also another $15 buy!

These colors are also very warm and has colors like  Last Call and Mildew for your pop of color! And of course the Oil Slick for the depth.

Maui Wowie is my favorite of them all and Grifter being in a close second. Sin and Polyester Bride are ideal for highlighting under your brows or in your tear ducts.

The palette is nice but once again I wish they included more matte colors but like I said before this is a nice item for the price. I mean you can't really complain because the whole palette cost less than a single eye shadow. So you're getting quantity and quality!

I LOVE THE OZ COLLECTION!!! This palette is very soft and has soft colors that can be used frequently even the purples are very soft so it won't look like you're always having a dramatic eye.

As you can see these colors are sheer and so simply beautiful! This palette can be used daily!

It's also got warm colors that are also sheer! So if you're looking for a everyday palette this is definitely it especially if you're not one to wear an abundance of color or looking for a natural look which is a perk to this palette.

This palette is my favorite of the two! These colors are also warm but they have a deeper warmth than the other three. And I LOVE IT. Plus Mila Kunis is on the cover! I mean she is the most amazing lady ever!
You can see the warmth in this and they included TWO MATTE finishes!! Wooohooo... Browns are one of my favorite shades to wear and i COULDN'T BE any happier that they included several  different shades of brown with just wonderful dimensions!
Even more warmth with color and I think the gold they included is so rich and has glitter in it! I LOVE glitter lol
By far my FAVORITE PALETTE of them all.
No cons here!

Both of the OZ palettes come with eye liners. Glinda Palette comes with Purple and Theodora comes with Black! These are my favorite eyeliners currently so BOTH shades are great!
AND... Urban Decay just came out with these pencils in a ton more shades!
I am so excited...
Last but not least the Oz palettes also come with these  Gloss Color pencils. They are AMAZING PRODUCTS and last! They don't make your lips dry and both colors are great! The Glinda is very day to day and Theodora is just a very sultry color. If you're not a fan of the palettes fine... But these lip pencils are incredible.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT

March Haul...

This month has been a real success when it comes to my makeup collection... As if I need anymore makeup but lets be real... I HAVE AN ADDICTION!
PLUS... ULTA and Sephora both sent me amazing coupons... HOW CAN I RESIST?!

So I am going to talk about all of my purchases which is a lot so bear with me...

I tried the Khroma Joystick and I got it in two colors as you can see... I really like these... They're convenient and I love how deep the colors are. The babydoll color will look SUPA beautiful on those with fair skin and I think the Shocking Pink will look great on all skin tones. The only thing is they come off VERY easily so I'd make sure to travel with it if you plan on going out anywhere. They were 50 percent off... LOVE A BARGAIN! So I'd get em while they're on sale to give them a try.

I had always heard of NARS orgasm and have wanted to try it but... I just couldn't bring myself to pay so much money for a blush. Foundations... YES! A blush ehhh... So Sephora sent out a coupon and I decided to get it. It is a beautiful blush and will look good on almost all skin tones but if you have darker skin tone the color may not be as pink and more of a shimmer and give you a glow. BUT.... I have mentioned there is a drugstore dupe... So if you're not look to spend then go with the Milani dupe!

I have mentioned in previous blogs how OBSESSED I am with this hi-light. If you are darker in skin color I think this is essential.  As you can see in the swatch it is very light but gives the most GORGEOUS glow a girl could ask for. FAVORITE PURCHASE OF THE MONTH!

Another favorite hi-light of mine that I usually wear with pink blushes and it is soooo pretty! Put this baby on your cheak bones and all the boys will come to the yard! And it can double as a eye shadow if need be. Also... it will make your eyes POP if you put this in your tear ducts!

This is perfect for travel! It has a bronzer (which you can barely see in this picture), hi-lighter, and blush! I do really love this because the products in this go on so smoothly and look so finished once applied! And I think it's about $30 for three great products... not bad!

This might be the best foundation and concealer ever created!!!  I usually have long days and this is the perfect foundation and concealer I could have ever asked for. It stays on ALL DAY!
And I find myself not as oily too... GREAT PRODUCT!

l have been using this concealer on a daily basis and it really is better then i expected it to be. I do like that it has a wand and it gives you pretty decent coverage I can't complain. But, for some reason it tingles when I put it on I have no idea why?! I still use it... lol.

Great Lash is a known mascara and I have neglected to try it for some random reason. But I find myself gravitating to this over all my other mascaras! I love the natural look and the only issue I have is that the wand is very small. But all in all really worth it and it's soooo cheap! You really have nothing to lose.

PIGMENT is my new fave! I have several but I am getting back into it! I LOVE this color because it's warm and neutral! And the best thing about pigments are that they last FOREVER! So though they can be pricey you will get your moneys worth because it lasts so long!

Glitter is one of the girliest things ever and be a perfect pop for certain occasions if done correctly. I know NYX has glitter along with Sally's for a fraction of the price! They'll do the job just as good as any MAC glitter.

These electric cool eyeshadow's have a pillowy/ creamy feel! They are fairly sheer but have a lot of sparkle so your eyes will have the necessary twinkle needed! I love the colors and think most can be worn with any skin tone. The creaminess is what sold me and the fact that it's so effortless and looks so great!

These are basic neutral colors and can be used as hi-lights. I am sooooo into SKETCH! All the other colors are really nice but, sketch has me love struck! I think everyone should have this color in their collection because it's just that perfect. But all of the colors are warm and can look great on EVERYONE! And can be worn on a daily basis because they're neutral!

SIGMA brushes are the BESTTTTT! They're identical to MAC and though they are not the cheapest they're way cheaper than MAC brushes. I use the tapered highlight brush under my eyes and it's the best brush I've used thus far for setting my concealer with powder. The flat definer brush is what I use if I want to apply shadow on my bottom lash line because it gets in so close! Both brushes are great and LOVE LOVE love them!

These brushes were buy one get one half off at ULTA so why not give them a try?! One I use to blend my concealer and the other I use with gel liner. I am not used to it being bent but I am getting used to it. For the price of both brushes I have no complaints. They're actually better quality then I expected.

Keep an eye out for ULTA coupons and keep an eye on their adds.

Sigma Brushes

AND... There's a place called The Cosmetic Company Store... See if there are any in your area. They carry a lot of high end makeup for several dollars cheaper then what they would cost at the actual location. i got a lot of my products from there!
