Too Faced -- Joy To The Girls Palette | Review

TaDa.... Picked this beauty up at Sephora a couple months ago and this has been a great addition to palette collection. This is apart of the Too Faced Holiday collection which might become your new obsession.
This palette includes 20 ULTRA pigmented shadows. 5 of which are matte while the other 10 are metallic to shimmery to iridescent shades. The color selection includes mostly neutral tones but, it also includes some pinky, peachy, teal, and black shades to add a twist to your most neutral look. One of the best things about this palette is that the colors are able to compliment each other well and you won't need to dip into other shadows.
It also comes with this this full sized Too Faced LashGasm Mascara. This mascara is phenomenal. I love that the wand has many comb like teeth that are perfect for coating your lashes perfectly. I am a BIG FAN!
So I have swatches of each and keep in mind I have no primer so they wouldn't pop as much as they possibly could with a primer.
The first color is the palette is Cookie Dough which is a flesh tone for me but for those lighter in tone it is going to be a deeper tone of brown. This shade is matte and even though it is my exact skin tone it is perfect to blend into your crease especially those lighter in tone. This color reminds me a lot of MAC's Soft Brown.
Cheers is a beautiful shimmery champagne color perfect for the lid or even for a highlight tone (inner tear ducts). This color pairs well with deeper shades.
One of my personal favorite shades in the palette since it is the MOST GORGEOUS antique gold tone and this shade is ULTRA pigmented. I love the way this color shows up on every skin tone. And, it pops even more when a black eyeliner is used to under it. PERFECTION!

Sugar Plum is a deeper plum shade with GLITTER!!! Purple is probably one of my favorite eye shadow colors to rocks out. Since glitter and purple are two of my favorite things this shadow is such a great color to add depth to any look.
Mulberry is the perfect transition crease color for those with deeper skin tones and those who are more fair in tone this is a perfect outer corner to bring depth to the look. Such a great shade and... it's matte. Mattes are essential to almost every look.
Snow Angel another matte shade is great for either brow bone high light or an all over lid tone. I think this is a nice for a day to day look on the lid with mulberry or cookie dough as a crease color. Simple but b e a utiful !
This shade is also very similar to the above shade and I think it's uses can be the same.
Too Too though it doesn't look like it in this swatch it is a very pale pink shade which contains a minimal amount of shmmer/glitter. It's a great shade for neutral looks that are different from the typical goldy nude tones.
Yule Log... what a name! lol I don't even know what it means but this shade is uhhhhmazing :) I love that it's a a rich deep brown and the best part about it is that it has gold glitter! I've mentioned my obsession with glitter and what I love about it is that it's just a nice tone to deepen up any look.

Chestnut looks a tad bit shimmery but it't not. This is a deeper matte shade that has multiple uses: deep matte smokey eye, transition color , or outer v color. This color is very pretty and just a great all around color.

Twinkle is the smoothest shimmery gold tone. Where as prancer is a more chunky shimmery antique gold. So beautiful on the lids!
Joy is a teal/baby blue shade that adds umph this palette. Some color is needed in every girls life. I think this tone is very wearable color that isn't too vibrant to the point that you'd look like a clown.
This matte peach shade is also a nice lid/ highlight color. I really love this tone and think it's so gorgeous!  Also a nice day to day tone.

Chimney is a great gray tone that can deepen up a look with either the paired black shade or any of the above deeper browns or it can even be paired with any tone to deepen a look. I actually think this shade paired with the tealish shade in Joy would be a super fun combo!
This matte black color is just a staple item. WHAT'S A PALETTE WITHOUT BLACK?!  The uses of black are just limitless. Need I go on ...

Final Thoughts:
So this sums up the whole palette from head to toe. Is it worth the price?! UM YEAHHHH!  The eyeshadows are beyond gorgeous and I love it.The eye shadows are beyond pigmented and are to die...   Also a great day to day palette and contains the everything you need for on the go.

FIRST IMPRESSION: MARC JACOBS BEAUTY Genius Gel Super Charged Foundation

So I decided to try out the new Marc Jacobs Genius Gel Foundations. Originally I went into Sephora with intentions on buying the new Smashbox Halo foundation but ended up getting this beauty instead because the formula appealed to me more when I swatched it. It dried fairly matte which is what drew me in since I have combination skin and like more of a matte finish. The above video gives you an idea of how the foundation wears. I did wear it for about 11 hours and updated every few hours. I really didn't see a big difference in the formula I did think it would be a little different since it is "genius gel" but it reminded me of any typical liquid foundation. I have combination skin and get oily through my t-zone so I really wanted to see how this product would handle my oil.

Coverage --> Sheer to medium but it is buildable.

Suggested Skin Types --> Dry, Medium, and Combination.
I found myself needing to powder after a few hours which is nothing new to me but, I will say that it lasted through me sweating, heat, and humidity. Which is a definite plus!

So this product retails for about $48. And yes it is steep for a foundation and I think you can find a product equally as good for the same price.

Do I like it ... YES! But, I just don't think I would repurchase it again because it didn't do anything significant enough for me to repurchase it for this price! I do think those with dry to normal skin would probably enjoy this product more. Since it is sheer to medium those with clearer skin.

So those are my thoughts based off the one use. Maybe as I use it more I'll like it better but for now it's just ok.

Thanks for reading :)

FAIL!! Make Up For Ever HD Foundation Review

Lately I have been on a foundation overload and have just purchased several foundations. I kept seeing this Make Up For Ever ( MUFE) everywhere, read reviews, and saw it was one of Sephora's best sellers. So, I decided to hop on the bandwagon and give it a try. But, this wasn't my first rodeo with this product. About 3 years ago I had purchased this because one of Kim K's makeup artist suggested it and of course I had to have it because homegirls makeup is flawless. When I tried it back then I hated it! And couldn't wait to finish it since it was a pretty penny. But... in those three years I feel I've learned more about the art of makeup and figured why not try it again since I know more now then I did then. I mean truth is... I probably was  the one who sucked not the product. WRONG!!!! When I applied this product it looked good I had no complaints it was medium coverage my skin wasn't overly shiny I had nothing negative to say about the product. As the day went on, the product went  off. On the sides of my nose the product had completely came off. No I wasn't sweating, no I wasn't touching my face it just wasn't wanting to stick to my skin AT ALL. I do have combination skin where I do get shine in my t-zone but  NEVER! have I ever had a foundation slide off like that. Not even my drugstore products. That was disappointing since this guy was not cheap! So I returned it. Wasn't my cup of tea. And much to my surprise one of the employees at Sephora also had the same problem and she said her skin is extremely dry. So it wasn't just me... But, some people swear buy this stuff. Me personally NO THANK YOU!
So that was just my two cents. I would hate for anyone to waste their time and/money but then again it may work for you.

REVIEW! Kat Von D Lock It Longwear Foundation ...

So recently I went to Sephora and bought this baby!!! At first I was hesitant because I kept reading mixed reviews but decided to get it anyways. I am so happy I chose to get this foundation because it is my obsession! I have sooooo many foundations and have tried all different formulas but this foundation by far is the best one for my skin type. I have combination skin and I think this formula is perfect for those who have combination to oily skin. As far as those with dry skin I honestly can't say. I know it keeps my face fairly matte for a large portion of the day so maybe this wouldn't be the best match for those with dry skin. Some of the negative feedback I read online is that it's cakey and it hard to blend but I don't find myself having these problems at all. I always moisturize and prime my face prior to application as well so I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY! So if people are squirting multiple pumps and applying it all to the face I can see it getting cakey or hard to blend. You literally need one pump and your whole face will have full coverage. I KID YOU NOT! Which is a plus. I use MAC Studio Fluid which is my other foundation lover and find myself needing multiple pumps of the product for the same amount of coverage I get with one pump of this product. So when looking at the price difference keep this in mind because this product is $34. All in all I am super happy with the product and because I liked it so much I bought several more items from the Kat Von D line.  I haven't gotten around to using them all but as I use them more and more I'll leave input on the products.
